The Best Luxury Advent Calendars 2022
and how Chanel's 2021 advent calendar paved the way for greatness
ICYMI, last year, to celebrate turning 100, Chanel released its first (and probably last) Advent calendar. Chanel’s Advent calendar was shaped like a giant bottle of Chanel No. 5 perfume, retailed for a whopping $825, and sold out immediately. Then people started opening it.

Inside, Chanel fans found stickers, miniature beauty items (aka free samples), and an empty dust bag. After a wave of scathing reviews of its Advent calendar, Chanel responded by saying they would be “much more cautious” about forays like this in the future (i.e. they’re not doing that again). It’s worth noting, however, that today, Chanel’s 2021 Advent calendar is being sold on the secondary market … for three times the original retail price.
But on the bright side, Chanel’s debacle got heaps of press and helped put luxury brand Advent calendars on the map. While Chanel is staying far, far away this year, here are five other Advent calendars that might fill that void.
Dior Advent Calendar, $650
This gilded Dior Advent calendar is (almost!) too pretty to open, and features mini versions of culty favorites like J'adore Eau de Parfum and Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara.
Christian Louboutin Advent Calendar, $550
In addition to being the most naturally Christmas-y looking Advent calendar of the bunch, Christian Louboutin’s Advent Calendar is packed with things you’re actually going to want. In addition to 10 fragrance vials from Christian Louboutin Beauty, you’ll find a number of refillable lipstick shades and a handy carrying case.
Net-A-Porter 25 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar, $299
There’s no shortage of beauty-focused Advent calendars, but Net-A-Porter 25 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar stands out from the crowd for its product selection and overall value. The ratio of full-size to mini is strong, and it features favorites from brands including Dr. Barbara Sturm, Augustinus Bader, and Charlotte Tilbury among others.
La Collection Privée Christian Dior Trunk of Dreams, $3,500
If you’ve got a pile of money burning a hole in your pocket, may we suggest the Christian Dior Trunk of Dreams Advent Calendar. Made from wood, it is designed to look like the iconic Dior boutique at 30 Avenue Montaigne. Each drawer numbered 1 to 23 encloses a creation from La Collection Privée Christian Dior. Drawer 24 contains some type of fancy scented ornament. Made in extremely limited quantities, each trunk is numbered.
Sydney Evan Gold and Diamond Jewelry Advent Calendar, $6,800 (LOL)
Yes this Sydney Evan Advent calendar is going to set you back $7k and is from a luxury brand you probably haven’t heard of, but hear us out. It’s got 22 pieces of delicate gold jewelry inside (there’s nary a travel-sized perfume sample or empty dust bag in sight!). It’s packed with diamonds — 6.912 carats in all. And it’s actually unique. For those who live and breathe over-the-top luxury, this is it.
