Considering the fact that the Louis Vuitton brand stamp is one of the most obvious features to check when confirming authenticity, it’s surprising how many counterfeiters get it wrong. Here are key traits to look for:
Note that some vintage Louis Vuitton bags will have brand stamps that do not contain PARIS as a line. If other characteristics of the stamp check out, it may still be authentic. Also, even some modern-era Louis Vuitton brand stamps do not have “made in” beneath the brand stamp. In these cases, the “made in” notation should appear with the date code.
